reetings, wherever you are in the world and thanks for visiting my site. It's been a tricky business putting Ask Sophie together (having to work with a mouse for a start!) but I hope you enjoy the results.First a few words about me. My early days were pretty much the usual routine - you know, eating, drinking, etc., and after about five or six weeks, something dramatic happened that changed my life... forever! One night, either by accident or design, I found myself wandering the Swindon streets alone, cold and hungry. I think I had cat 'flu and boy, did I feel terrible, my eyes and nose were all gooey and I couldn't even summon the energy to meow for help. I honestly believe that it would have been the end of yours truly except that, in one moment of kindness and compassion, a hand reached out in the dark and plucked me from the cold, wet tarmac. That same hand (thank you whoever you are) then delivered me to the warmth and love of a Cats Protection fosterer. For the next couple of weeks I got the full five-star treatment - food, jabs, food, more jabs. Suddenly I wasn't the pathetic, bedraggled kitten rescued from death's door. I was strong, I was fat and I was mean! Now, don't get me wrong, it's not that I wasn't grateful for being rescued, but did they really have to put me in a room with loads of other rescued kittens? I had no choice. My motto was born that day, "Gnash or be gnashed!".
To keep us fosterlings happy there were various cat toys and scratching posts in the room, along with an enormous cardboard box that had taken every other feline's fancy but which I had selected as my own personal territory. Fortunately, before I was forced to beat up every fosterling that entered my box, I was chosen by two people (with obvious impeccable taste) who took me back to their gigantic and fully carpeted 'box' - and that's where my troubles really began! For some unknown reason, my new 'bruvvers' didn't take kindly to my presence. Spider, the mean looking one, made me feel as wanted as one of those 'cling-ons' you sometimes get hanging off your tail. Oz on the other hand, the large ginger one, just saw me as yet another unwanted rival for his food bowl...... You can read more about the rest of my gang as you explore my site and don't forget to e-mail me with photos and stories about your feline - just click on Sophie's Interactive pawprint.
Oh, I almost forgot, whenever you see this button scattered throughout my site just click on it for a tasty morsel! |
